Anyone who runs a blog with comments will eventually be attacked by spammers. It’s inevitable. And in the past few days, they’ve decided my blog is their next target. I’ve had to delete several comments over the past few months, but since Friday I’ve had over 20 spam comments ranging from pharmacies to car insurance; strangely, they’ve all been on two posts out of the many on here!
I really don’t want to turn the comments feature off, because I love it when you comment! But I have to do something about it!
I’ve created a blacklist of words. From now on, any comments with certain words will be automatically deleted– I won’t even see them or have to moderate them.
So, if you intend to ask me about my insurance carrier via a comment (why?), it will be deleted. If you intend to ask if I want to buy Levitra– deleted. And the same goes for many of the common spam words.
I just found out about his photo essay from a friend and want to share it because it really is something the world needs to see.

Yesterday my mother and I finished painting the studio! Well, I might still paint another wall. I’m just thinking about it for now, but might do that later. Feeling a little wishy-washy about it…
But the majority of the work is finished! Mom finishing the second coat:

This is the reed texture wall:

And here’s my modern art. We finished hanging these frames and then I thought– hey, that looks pretty cool. (Reality: just waiting for some prints to arrive!)

We hung these new 20×30″ standouts yesterday as well. This was taken just after realizing that the holes in the back of the prints meant for hanging really weren’t exactly centered…

Now I’m just waiting for a lot of little things to be finished, like electrical outlets and moulding. Oh, and furniture!
Please consider organ donation– I don’t think there’s anything else I can really say!
I picked up the keys to the studio yesterday, but had to postpone moving in until this afternoon due to yesterday’s rainstorm. The good news is, we just finished the move of all my major furniture. I’m going to start painting at the end of next week, and then I’ll just be waiting on my new furniture that Ana, a future bride, is designing for me!
These were all taken yesterday afternoon, before I moved the clutter into the new space.

I’m leaving in a few hours for a photography convention in Vegas and will not return until Thursday evening. Once again, I’ll have very limited access to email, and likely will not be responding to any email. If you have an emergency, please call the business line.
Have a great week!
I visited the studio today. It might not look like much has changed since the last set of images, but a ton of detail work has been finished! Next week the bamboo floor will be installed, along with the doors and wall at the entrance. I’m starting to get really excited about it!
