Dave and Wendy have 10 children. Yes, that was 10 that you just read. And four of them are toddlers! So you can imagine the fun we had yesterday at Seal Beach shooting their family!

Okay, here are the actual wedding images from John & Ruth’s wedding yesterday that I second shot for Jessica Claire. By the way, Tuesday weddings are so cool. I like weekday weddings!
Ruth had great shoes and a great dress. Actually, the whole wedding and all the details were put together very well.

The guest seating cards, and the reception setup.

A couple ceremony shots

John and Ruth touring the grounds for us. I don’t think I need to reiterate it, but La Venta is so beautiful…

Here they are near the decorated arch. I thought the branches were a great touch.

And the simple cake. Before and After.

I was up at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates today, second shooting for Jessica Claire. I’ll have the “wedding” photos up tomorrow, but I’m so excited about some of the scenics I took today. We had beautiful light all day, and I pulled out the infrared camera for a bunch of these shots. No other descriptions needed!

Amanda is starting a new business and needs some updated photos. Of course, we had to include Abby, her 3 1/2 year old dog! Abby was so funny, jumping onto Amanda’s lap every time it was Amanda’s turn to be alone in the frame. It reminds me how much I love small dogs…

Tracee was looking for a softer look than her hold, standard realtor’s photo. She wanted a friendlier approach than the standard background of white or gray. So, we decided to photograph her in and around her home where she is more relaxed!

And don’t worry, she got him, too!

I know I normally start off with some background info, but I thought the cake smash shot deserved center stage!
JJ and Lesli sure know how to party! They are laid back and have a lot of fun– my kind of people! And Leslie deserves major compliments for her sense of style. Check out the bridesmaids dresses!

And the ceremony site

This has absolutely nothing to do with my business, of course! But my parents have been remodelint their new house and asked me to take some photos to track the progress. The first photos was from early last week, the next three are from this evening… They’re making progress! Maybe this means they start cooking for me again soon? :)

My cousins Keith and Carrie just had another son, Ryan, so Luke is a big brother now!

And one of Ryan, too!

Saturday I second shot for Louis Felix. His clients, Garrett and Cindy, had a great wedding at the Millenium Biltmore in downtown LA.
While Louis was with Cindy and the girls, I went a few floors up to photograph Garrett getting ready. I’m going to tell a short story here as a warning to all of my clients, and anyone else that happens to read this blog. Tux shops mess up ALL THE TIME. Saturday’s screw up was particularly bad, as they didn’t put Garrett’s vest and bowtie in the garment bag with the rest of the tux. So, for the first part of the formals shoot, Garrett was wearing his dad’s vest and bowtie (black instead of the intended ivory). Lesson learned!

Garrett and the guys after Cindy’s mom returned from the tux shop to bring the right vest and bowtie

I honestly can’t remember WHAT Cindy was reacting to here!

I love second shooting for other photographers to see their style.

In front of the hotel, on Grand

A shot on the roof after the ceremony… I’ll plead the fifth on how we got up there!

My dad and several of his co-workers are probably somewhere in Laguna Beach by now. They started in Huntington Beach with around 2,000 other cyclists and are riding to raise money for MS research. So what did I do? Take pictures! (And get up early, again.) I shouldn’t complain about getting up early, since Dad not only did that, but will be riding all the way to Carlsbad today. Tomorrow, they’ll finish the ride somewhere in Del Mar or San Diego…

And Dad’s group just before taking off:

Just to prove to all my clients that I actually know what it feels like getting photographed!
Mike and I needed new photos of us, so Shawna of Shawna K Studio in San Diego drove all the way up to Laguna Beach for us! You can see a few shots on her blog.

It took 45 minutes for me to get to his house, and 35 minutes to get home. The portrait shoot lasted about 10 minutes.
Dr. Chan does look pretty good, though!
