Yesterday I was so lucky and had the opportunity to photograph a fellow photographer, Kristine Che. Kristine is due next month and hadn’t done her maternity photos yet, so I told I’d be happy to photograph her this week!
When she arrived, she was even into one of my favorite spots, the “abandoned railroad bridge.”

We also did a couple belly photos to show off!

A great old tree…and a family!

Saturday morning I got up bright and early and drove out to Irvine Park for a family portrait session. I normally wouldn’t drive that far for portraits, because it is outside my travel range, but Linda told me about this great, old tree at this park. Well, I’m a sucker for good trees, so I agreed to go to Irvine Park. What a gorgeous tree! Linda’s family is beautiful, too, of course!

We did take a few without the tree too…

A So Cal family session…

I couldn’t have asked for a nicer afternoon yesterday! Gorgeous clouds scattered across the sky and a lovely family to work with.
Dawn used to babysit my little sisters back before they were in grade school, so I have kind of watched this family grow up until the last several years. So imagine my reaction when Dawn purchased my auction donation of a family session without even knowing I was the photographer! It has been a bit hard to get everyone together for the session, but we managed today!

The girls, Megan, Emily, and Olivia

Ron and Dawn

And then they got wet! I love a family that isn’t afraid to get nice clothes wet! Although, Ron didn’t exactly let on HOW wet they’d be getting…

The Norman Family

Well, despite my best efforts, I’m still doing Christmas photos! This morning was fun with the Norman family, plus their aging lab, Ginger. Oh, and Paul’s scorpion came along for the ride, too!

Welcome, Miss Katie!

Welcome to the world, Katie Diana! Newborns are such a job to photograph. They are so innocent, so sweet. Even the scrunched up crying faces are adorable (to me– I don’t have to hear it at night!).

Oh– and the photographer doesn’t care if it’s gas or not, the smiles are still cute!

Last spring I had the pleasure of shooting one of Katie’s older sisters for her 8th grade graduation photos, but this time I got to shoot Katie, Betsy, and Danielle all together!

Jeremy & Charmaine tie the knot!

Wedding
If this had to be a weekend where I shot a wedding, Jeremy and Charmaine were the perfect couple for it. They are so laid back and “go with the flow” type people, and shooting them was a breeze. I got lucky enough to be shooting with my friend, Jen Rau, today, too!
We first gallavanted around downtown Long Beach to get some kind of urban shots before heading over to the Gazzella, the restaurant where the ceremony and reception took place.

An infrared back at the restaurant:

And some dancing shots at the reception.

I love all the different expressions in this shot!
