Limited Availabilty This Week
I went shopping on Wednesday and bought some shoes. I don’t regularly do this! But, Robinson’s May is having the closing sale, so I thought I would check it out. And then I went to Target and bought some rain boots. Yup, rain boots. Mike thinks they’re hideous and I tend to agree.

So why the rain boots? I’m off to San Francisco for a photography workshop! I’m really excited, despite the forecast of rain for most of the week. I won’t be back until Friday evening and will have limited access to email. And I’m pretty sure Mike won’t be checking messages for me, so pretty much everything will be at a standstill until March 6.
Who knows? I might get to wear some of the fun shoes, too!
Some portraits… catch up!

David is such a neat guy! You’ll be seeing more of him in the future, along with his son. Oh, and he just opened a car dealership and drove up in a gorgeous 2007 Mercedes. I’m not really THAT into cars, but this one was beautiful! Sadly, I won’t be able to afford one like that for another decade or two.

And Chuck, who was kind enough to wait 1/2 hour for me due to a scheduling mixup… Thanks, Chuck!

Took these in infrared the other day… same subject as the green post below.

Mario and Beth beat the rain!
Let me first say that I would really like to shoot an engagement session in the rain sometime, but yesterday if you had asked, NO! It was chilly and windy at Hermosa Beach yesterday, and being wet out there didn’t really have a whole lot of appeal. So we were pretty lucky and beat the rain… drops started falling as we walked back to their apartment!
Luckily, the wind meant Beth was ready to cuddle with Mario!

I chaperoned a bunch of high-schoolers on a daytrip to a Mexican orphanage last week. Yup, me– a chaperone. Kind of a funny concept. Anyway, we went to help out around the orphanage a little bit and also to bring more supplies as the place is run entirely on charity. Oh, and we got to play with the kids. Yajaida attached herself to me pretty early on, so I gave my camera to Tori after a while and let her run loose with it… So most of these are from the beginning of the visit.

Karen & Anthony… and a little water
Karen and Anthony met me at Seal Beach a couple days ago for their engagement session…what a blast! I’m going to start off with the ending photo.

Apparently, Anthony has a pretty low threshold for dares. He asked if any of my clients ever just ran into the ocean. I answered that plenty had gotten splashed, but never intentionally ran into the water. I added that it would make for a pretty good portfolio shot on the website. That was the point right there, where I probably should have kept my mouth shut. I just didn’t know better!
Anthony said, “You promise?” I assured him I did, and with that he ran into the water, dove face first, and was then completely soaked. Karen gave me the look. You know, that look! Especially after he came running out of the water and tried to hug her!
Luckily they live four blocks away from where we were!
Anyway, here’s the rest of the photos…

It’s okay to let me know you’re here!
I know you’re reading my blog. And I know that a lot of my clients are reading it several times a week. So why aren’t you commenting? Blog are so much more interesting with comments of the readers, so I’m making a simple request… Let me know what you think about the images I’m posting!
:) Have a nice day!

Ashwini is a local model building her portfolio, and this past Friday I had a great time working with her. Ashwini brought along some beautiful saris. One of them weighed a ton!
These first three are in infrared in my papyrus. It looks like our landscaping is finally starting to pay off!

I loved Ashwini’s reaction to this one… “Is that me!?”

Court and Jenny’s Engagement Session
Yes, I know it’s Super Bowl Sunday. And to think, I had the gall to skip the game? Oh no! Actually, Mike’s never been into sports on tv, so we didn’t watch it even after we got home from Court and Jenny’s fabulous engagement session. They were engaged in Laguna Beach, so it’s only fitting that we did the engagement session there as well! We started downtown, walking around, and then moved to Crescent Bay.
The photos.
