Carole and Steve were married a while back already, but we still hadn’t done their day after shoot due to family reasons. It was worth the wait! They found the exact outfits they were wearing when Steve proposed to Carole, and we shot the photos in the same place. It brought their entire wedding story full circle!

Jim and Karen aren’t my typical clients, but they are so sweet! I feel honored to have been a part of their day. Their wedding was really a family affair and their short reception just a nice get together with friends added… it really brings home the meaning of a wedding. What was also nice is that Roger Beard, the pastor, also married Mike and I just over two years ago!

Both of the rings are heirlooms from past generations!

I stopped and took a few photos on the way home from the wedding in Temecula this past weekend, mostly with the infrared camera but also one in color.

Wedding
This past Saturday was, through a strange set of circumstances, going to be a relaxing day. No wedding, no portrait sessions, no client meetings. Mike was sleeping in and I had just gotten home from Starbucks when I got a call from Donny Havenhill at Heavenly Portraits. He and his wife Holly were on the way to their wedding and were rear-ended, totalling their car (you can see the car wreck pictures on their blog). Holly had to go to the hospital– she’s fine–so Donny needed a little help covering their wedding. I didn’t hesitate and hopped into the car to drive to the Humphrey Estate in Temecula.
It was a strange, strange day. It was already 109° when I got out of the car at 10:30am, and by the time the ceremony rolled around it had cleared 112° with humidity around 90% or so. It was sticky. Very sticky. Later, thunder and lightning, rain, and then hail during the outdoor reception!
Anyway, on to the photos.

Friday evening I shot the Tessitore family again! We went to Heritage Park this time and the kids loved the Paul Revere theme on the island.

Some post-processing fun

Now that all my recent weddings are edited and online I thought I’d get back to more fun work before I start on album designs. This is a new post-processing method I’ve been playing around with and really like the results.

Some blogging catch up!

Thank you to those who let me get through a glorious long weekend without working… I really appreciate that! Mike and I celebrated our anniversary (albeit a week early) by eating very well at various restaurants!

We attended a wedding (the first together since we were married) for one of Mike’s co-workers. I couldn’t resist and did bring my camera, but only shot a few from my seat at the ceremony.

And then we came home…back to reality. I’m working like crazy this week trying to catch up and hopefully I’ll get around to housework by the end of the week. I couldn’t avoid some gardening, though, because if I don’t pick the tomatoes Fez eats them all. Yup, my dog likes tomatoes. I guess that’s good, seeing as how many we’ve got! I guess I know for next year that six plants is probably four too many…

Monday I volunteered at a fundraiser for Hillview Children’s Home, a home for severely abused children. I manned the 18th hole at Trump National in PV. I’m still really happy I was able to help, but I currently have very negative feelings toward the golf course, since they don’t allow tents or other shelters on the putting greens. I understand why– I really do. But 8:30am until 5:30pm in the sun, even with sunscreen… well, I’ve got a really nasty sunburn right now! I apologize in advance to anyone who sees me in the next few days… :)
Out of the office…

I just met them and they’ve already moved away…! Kris, Matt, and daughter Cassidy moved to Oregon this morning. I met Kris and Matt last Sunday at Beth and Mario’s wedding, and Kris called a couple days later to schedule a family portrait session. We had to hurry due to their move, so I got up early for them yesterday– and I’m so glad I did!
Some are at their adorable house in Redondo Beach, others are at the pier.

Matt has lived at the beach his entire life– he was a bit nostalgic while down at the pier.

Christine and Reuben pulled all the stops for a beautiful wedding! It couldn’t hurt that Christine’s mother is a talented florist and did the flowers herself!
Kelley Gin of Picture Perfect Event coordinated an elaborate reception at the Disneyland Hotel, following a ceremony at the Korean Martyrs Catholic Church in Westminster.

Kristen’s grad photos

Yesterday we shot some 8th grade graduation photos for Kristen– a little late, but maybe better now that she’s free for the summer! This is the first shoot I’ve had since receiving the rest of my furniture, so I put it to good use when we did some studio shots. After that, we took a long walk down to the Pike and stopped at one of my favorite painted walls on the way back.
