Engagement
Yesterday afternoon I met Jared and Ivorn at the Fulleron Arboretum for their engagement shoot. With only a month left until their wedding, we had a great shoot!
This is my favorite shot from the whole day. We found a giant magnolia (I think) tree that split a long time ago, and I nestled them in the crevice. The light was perfect, and they are so cute here!

A romantic little spot

Jared did a little climbing for me, and we had to have some fun. Ivorn’s expression is killer!

Since I know how many people are waiting to see a few images, I’m posting just these as a sneak peek for now– mostly because that’s all I’ve even had a chance to look at yet!
So, here is my infrared take from yesterday…

Wow– this is certainly something to think about. To me, it feels quite amazing. Especially since I’m heading off to the dentist for two fillings right now…

This year, I’m starting something new– I’ll be posting everybody’s wedding albums! I changed the background of the image to a gray border instead of a white border, so that the edge of the white pages will still show.

Wedding
Just reminding everyone that I am fully booked through the end of June. For each month after that, starting July, I have at least one opening left, sometimes more.
Also, as I’ve started receiving multiple inquiries for 2008 dates, I’m beginning to work on a new pricing structure.

We’ve got a temporary fence! Maybe Fez will stop acting like a petulant child now?

What Scares a 100 lb. dog?

Well, I guess the answer is the same thing that would scare anyone! 60+ ft of a backyard fence, completely gone… and a truck halfway in the yard.
Last night won’t be one we’ll be forgetting anytime soon. At 11:59 Mike and I woke up with a start. There was a loud crash, and then Fez came skidding up the hallway straight into the bedroom door. We figured he knocked something over in the living room and scared himself, so Mike climbed out of bed. I asked him what Fez knocked over… and he replied, “The fence!”
I ran into the livingroom and saw a blue truck, air bags deployed, at the edge of the yard. I grabbed the phone to call 911 while Mike locked Fez into our bathroom. Part of a fence panel was still wedged up against the truck so I moved that to help the girl out of the truck. She was in shock and couldn’t remember what happened, or even remember her boyfriend’s phone number to call and tell him what happened.

In this shot, note the circled street sign. The last photo on this post will show where it came from.

The debris scattered everywhere!

This is what our neighbor’s portion of the wall looked like immediately after the tow truck hauled the blue truck away. I have a feeling their fence will need quite a bit of repair as well, if all the cracks in the cinderblock are any indication.

These were taken around 7am this morning. At this point I’m running on about 4 hours of sleep, since I was able to fall asleep again until almost 4am. This is the overall view of the scene.

The crappy city of Lakewood were so nice to pile all of the street debris into our yard. So much for a cleanup crew! I should probably mention at this point that the few flowers and smaller plants that survived the crash were either trampled or otherwise destroyed by this cleanup crew. I’m pretty pissed at Lakewood right now and will be lodging a complaint with the city.

The one panel that remains, complete with tire skid marks. Also, there are a ton of paint chips all over the place from the truck here.

This is the sign post that used to hold the no parking sign from up above; the far arrow points to where the sign ended up. Also, you can’t see it in this shot, but the driver’s side view mirror is on the grass to the right.

And here’s Fez and Mike waiting for me to come inside. Poor guy, he’s going to be locked inside the house for quite some time!

We’ve been planning this shoot for months and it finally came to fruition this morning! Jen asked me to photograph her doing many of her yoga poses so that when she’s 80 she can look back at what she was able to do. Well, here’s hoping Jen can still do all this for many, many years to come!
Starting with basic stretches

I love how it looks like she’s levitating in this one!

This is one of my favorites, even though she hasn’t made it into her pose yet!
