Peter Brandon: Concert

Peter Brandon asked me to photograph his January 12th concert at the Orange County Pavillion. The OC Pavillion is a very nice venue, classy and elegant. And Peter, well he’s an amazing singer and wonderful performer. I’m not really one that attends concerts on a regular basis, and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I’d highly recommend finding out the next time he’s performing!

January – April – wedding rate special
Monday January 14th 2008, 4:13 pm

Now that the new year is here and I’ve had a few days to settle, I realize that other than the wonderful portrait side of my business, I don’t have much going on until late spring.

So- never done before (and we’ll see how long this post stays up): I’m offering a special rate for my coverage only package for weddings between now and the end of April: $2500 for 7 hours of coverage including the hi-res files three months after the wedding date. This is a savings of about $1500! This offer will be available for a limited amount of weddings.

Also, I’d like to add a few destination weddings to my portfolio this year. After going to Northern California in 07 and both Cabo and Canada in 06, I’d like to add some new places! For this reason I’m going to be offering special pricing for all destination shoots (including other states in the US), so please contact me about the special pricing.

A Summit House Wedding

I’ve been excited for Chelsey and Matt’s upcoming wedding for quite some time. We had such a fun time at their engagement shoot last spring, and I truly adore winter weddings. They chose to meet for portraits before the ceremony and we were lucky that the rain held off long enough to head over to El Dorado Park for a bit, and then to the church for the ceremony.

Matt left a gift with Chelsey’s maid of honor for her to open while she got ready for the day

There was time for a bit of relaxation before the ceremony, and the girls kept checking on who was arriving for the ceremony

Western Caribbean Cruise

My recent vacation was amazing, and highly recommended. We flew into Miami to board Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, and for seven days thoroughly enjoyed ourselves cruising and port stops in Labadee, Haiti, Ocho Rios, Georgetown, and Cozumel. I took plenty of pictures (of course), though they started tapering off towards the end of the week when I kept forgetting my cameras everywhere!

Tech info: all the widescreen photos are from our Sony point and shoot. Everyone knows I recommend canon point and shoots, but it was a free prize Mike won at a company picnic we didn’t even attend! The camera isn’t actually that bad, and does let me drag the shutter… so I won’t complain. The regular 2:3 images were all taken with my brand new Leica M8 and a 35 Summicron.

The first two images are of Miami from our stateroom’s balcony:

Mike and I played a few nickel slot machines. I came out positive $9, and Mike came out positive $126! Here’s Grandpa Doug congratulating him.

Uncle Brian and I– we ended up playing blackjack for the next 3 hours where I came out positive $35. Pretty successful night thanks to Uncle Brian.
